March 6, 2023 – Beacon, New York
With Congress poised to pass the Sunshine Protection Act, effectively ending Daylight Saving Time forever, this could be our last chance to 'Spring Ahead.' What better way to celebrate than with a show featuring beautiful handmade clocks created here in the Hudson Valley?
Clockmaker Leonie Lacouette will be exhibiting upstairs at Hudson Beach Glass, 162 Main Street, Beacon, March 11 through May 1, 2023.
Lacouette, who grew up in Manhattan and now keeps time in Ulster County, has been making clocks for more than 30 years. Her work combines geometric shapes in wood and metal, creating timepieces that are playful, dynamic, elegant, and modern. Her clocks are sold in more than 100 fine craft galleries throughout the United States.
"Not having to change close to 80 clocks at our studio twice a year will give us more time to be creative," Lacouette said. "And who couldn't use more time?"
